Mixed reviews were received when Manoj Bajpayee's vengeance drama Bhaiyya Ji, which was directed by Apoorv Singh Karki of Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, was released on Friday. Manoj's 100th movie, Bhaiyya Ji, is a turning point in his career since it features him in a major part in a commercial picture. Industry tracker Sacnilk reports that Bhaiyya Ji made Rs 1.30 crore at the box office on its opening day. Compared to Manoj's last theatrical release, Joram, which made just Rs 40 lakh during its one-week run in theaters, this movie has a significantly better box office haul (Bollywood Hungama).
